Electricity Consumption in November Shows that China's Economy Is Recovering Rapidly
On Dec. 14, the National Energy Administration released data on total electricity consumption in November. In November, China's electricity consumption was 646.7 billion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 9.4%. In terms of industries, the electricity consumption of the primary industry was 6.8 billion kWh, up 12.9% year on year. The electricity consumption of the secondary industry was 467.9 billion kWh, up 9.9% year on year. The electricity consumption of the tertiary industry was 97.4 billion kWh, up 8.1% year-on-year. The electricity consumption for urban and rural residents was 74.6 billion kWh, up 7.3% year on year. China’s total electricity consumption was 6,677.2 billion kWh in the first eleven months, up 2.5% year on year. In terms of industries, the electricity consumption of the primary industry was 77.8 billion kWh, up 9.9% year on year. The electricity consumption of the secondary industry was 4,503.3 billion kWh, up 2.1% year on year. The electricity consumption of the tertiary industry was 1,092.7 billion kWh up by 0.8% year-on-year. The electricity consumption of urban and rural residents was 1003.4 billion kWh, up 6.0% year-on-year. The electricity consumption data shows that all three industries maintained relatively fast growth in November, indicating that from the production side, China's overall economy is still in the process of rapid recovery.
