Wei Suo, President of the Hydrogen Industry Branch of the China Association for the Promotion of Industrial Development, recently expressed his view that hydrogen production through photovoltaic and other renewable energy will effectively solve the consumption problem and other development bottleneck of renewable energy. Wei said that in recent years, as a green and clean energy encouraged by the country, photovoltaic power generation continues to develop at a high speed and the installed capacity continues to expand. By the end of June this year, China's accumulative installed capacity of photovoltaic power generation has reached 216 million kw. At the same time, China's photovoltaic technology continues to improve, the cost declines at an accelerating speed, the development models are gradually diversified, and a variety of "photovoltaic +" new business forms are emerging rapidly, the photovoltaic industry has entered into an era of fair price. However, Wei Suo also pointed out that due to the inherent randomness, volatility and other problems of photovoltaic power generation, it has increased the difficulty of grid dispatching and posed a challenge to the stability of power system. In particular, the consumption problem has become one of the main bottlenecks restricting the continuous large-scale development of photovoltaic power generation. He argues that hydrogen, as a secondary energy source and energy carrier, offers a disruptive path. Wei Suo pointed out that at present, photovoltaic power generation technology and hydrogen production technology are relatively mature. With the continuous decline of photovoltaic power generation costs, the development of hydrogen industry has gradually entered into the fast lane, the competitiveness of photovoltaic hydrogen production will gradually enhance. Solar photovoltaic hydrogen production will have a bright future.
