China's Investment in Fixed Assets Increased by 7.2% in 2017
On January 18, the National Bureau of Statistics of China released economic data of 2017. Among them, last year's investment in fixed assets year-on-year increased 7.2%, with expected value of 7.1% and the advanced value of 7.2%. In terms of industries, the investment in the primary industry was 2,080.9 billion yuan, up 11.8% over the previous year, an increase of 0.4 percentage points than that from January to November. The investment in the secondary industry was 23,575.1 billion yuan, up 3.2% over the previous year, an increase of 0.6 percent. The tertiary industry investment 37,504 billion yuan, an increase of 9.5%, with growth rate down 0.6 percentage points. In the secondary industry, the investment in industry reached 23,261.9 billion yuan, an increase of 3.6% over the previous year, an increase of 0.5 percentage point over the growth rate in the first 11 months. In the tertiary industry, infrastructure investment (excluding electricity, heat, gas and water production and supply) reached 14,000.5 billion yuan, an increase of 19% over the previous year and a deceleration of 1.1 percentage points from the growth rate in the first 11 months.In terms of regions, the investment in the eastern region reached 26,583.7 billion yuan, an increase of 8.3% over the previous year, an increase of 0.2 percentage points than that from January to November. In the central region, the investment was 16.34 trillion yuan, up 6.9%, unchanged from January to November. The investment in the western region reached 16,657.1 billion yuan, an increase of 8.5 percent, a deceleration of 0.8 percentage points; that of the northeastern region was 3,065.5 billion yuan, up 2.8 percent, an increase of 2.7 percentage points. It should be noted that the private investment is 38,151 billion yuan, an increase of 6.0% over the previous year, an acceleration of 2.8 percentage points, accounting for 60.4% of the total investment. In terms of regions, private investment in fixed assets in the eastern region was 17.5573 trillion yuan, an increase of 8.6% over the previous year, an increase of 0.4 percentage points from January to November; that of the central region increased by 7.4% to 11,093.8 billion yuan, an increase of 0.3 percentage point; In the western region, China reached 7,344 billion yuan, an increase of 3.9%, a deceleration of 0.4 percentage point; that of the northeastern region was 2.1558 trillion yuan, up by 3.2%, an increase of 2.9 percentage points.
