The Comparison between China's manufacturing and National investment in fixed Assets
In the first 11 months of 2017, the national investment in fixed assets reached 57.5 trillion yuan, an increase of 7.2% over the same period of previous year, a deceleration of 0.1 percentage point of the growth rate from January-October. However, where did this 57.5 trillion yuan investment go? Data shows that from January to November 2017, investment in the tertiary industry was 34 trillion yuan, accounting for 59% of total fixed asset investment; investment in infrastructure was 12.7 trillion yuan, accounting for 22.1% of total fixed asset investment; investment in manufacturing was 17.6 trillion yuan, accounting for 30.6% of the total investment in fixed assets. Investment in manufacturing is marked by three features. One is that investment in middle and high end manufacturing highlights its guiding role. Data shows that from January to November, investment in high-tech manufacturing was 2363.8 billion yuan. The second is that investment in restructuring and upgrading of traditional industries accelerated. From January to November, investment in technological innovation in manufacturing reached 8,474.7 billion yuan. The third is investment in high-energy-consuming manufacturing continued to decline. From January to November, the investment in the five major high-energy-consuming manufacturing industries fell 2.3%. In addition, the growth rate of investment in the social field was significant with an increase of 19.8% in education investment, 17.8% in investment in health and social work, and 13.1% in investment in culture, sports and entertainment industry. Some analysts said that industrialization and urbanization are still not completed, infrastructure, public services, especially in the field of innovation, technological progress and transformation and upgrading and many other areas still require substantial investment, especially with the acceleration of new energy of growth, future investment still has great potential and space.
