China's Foreign Trade Continued to Improve in the Third Quarter
According to customs statistics, in the first three quarters of this year, China's total import and export of goods was 23.12 trillion yuan in the first three quarters, an increase of 0.7% over the same period last year. Total export was 12.71 trillion yuan, an increase of 1.8%. Total import was 10.41 trillion yuan, a decrease of 0.6%. The General Administration of Customs pointed out that the current foreign trade stabilization policies continue to be effective, and import and export are obviously better than expected. Import and export were stabilized quarter by quarter, and the cumulative growth turned from negative to positive. In the first and second quarters of this year, the growth rates of China's import and export were -6.5% and -0.2% respectively. In the third quarter, China's import and export were 8.88 trillion yuan, an increase of 7.5% year on year, of which export was 5 trillion yuan, an increase of 10.2%, and import was 3.8 trillion yuan, an increase of 4.3%. In the third quarter, the total import and export, total export and total import all hit a quarterly record high. In the first eight months, cumulative export achieved positive growth, and in the first three quarters, cumulative imports and exports achieved positive growth. The import and export of private enterprises have increased significantly, and the role of foreign trade "stabilizer" has become more prominent. In the first three quarters of this year, China's private enterprises imported and exported 10.66 trillion yuan, an increase of 10.2% and accounting for 46.1% of the country's total foreign trade, up 4 percentage points over the same period last year. Among them, export reached 7.02 trillion yuan, an increase of 10%, and accounting for 55.2% of the total export. Import was 3.64 trillion yuan, an increase of 10.5% and accounting for 35% of the total import. Import and export to major trading partners have maintained growth. In the first three quarters of this year, import and export to ASEAN, the EU, the US, Japan and the ROK were 3.8 trillion yuan, 3.23 trillion yuan, 2.82 trillion yuan, 1.61 trillion yuan and 1.45 trillion yuan, up 7.7%, 2.9%, 2%, 1.4% and 1.1%, respectively. Among them, ASEAN is China's largest trading partner, accounting for 14.6% of China's total foreign trade. In addition, China's import and export to countries along the Belt & Road reached 6.75 trillion yuan, an increase of 1.5%.
